Cryolipolysis (Fat Freezing)

Controlled cooling for pinchable fat pockets — honest about its real limits.

TIME
45–60 min / area
CONSULTATION
Complimentary

An applicator draws in a pinchable fold — lower tummy, flanks, bra-line — and cools it enough to injure fat cells while sparing the skin above. The body clears those cells gradually, so change appears over the following eight to twelve weeks rather than on the day. It suits discrete pockets in people near a stable weight; it does not treat deep abdominal fat and it is not a weight-loss treatment. Also searched as fat freezing, fat freeze therapy and CoolSculpting — CoolSculpting is one manufacturer's brand for cryolipolysis, not a different procedure.

How the visit works

Consult

A relaxed, complimentary conversation and skin assessment with a physician.

Plan

A transparent, personalised plan with clear pricing and realistic outcomes.

Treat

Your treatment in a calm, medical-grade suite with comfort at its core.

Glow

Aftercare and follow-ups to protect and extend your results.

How it works

  • A gel membrane protects the skin while the applicator draws in and cools the fold
  • Fat cells are more sensitive to cold than skin and nerves, which is what makes selective injury possible
  • The injured cells are cleared gradually by the body's own processes over the following weeks
  • The result is judged with photographs and measurements at the eight-to-twelve-week review, not on the day

Sessions & downtime

Usually one sitting of 45 to 60 minutes per area, reviewed at eight to twelve weeks; some areas benefit from a second cycle. What is honest to expect for your particular pocket is said at the assessment, before anything is paid.

Little to none. The area is typically red and tender afterwards and can feel numb — numbness may take days to a few weeks to fade — but normal activity continues the same day.

Is this suitable for Indian skin?

Cooling does not target melanin, so the pigmentation risks that come with lasers do not apply here. The skin is checked before and after each cycle, and anything unusual is reviewed rather than left to settle on its own.

Aftercare

  • Expect redness, tenderness and possibly numbness at the area — usual, and it settles
  • Nothing special is needed at home; normal washing, clothing and exercise are fine
  • Stay at a steady weight — the treated pocket shrinks, but the fat cells that remain still respond to weight gain
  • Report severe or worsening pain, or any enlargement of the treated area in the following months, promptly

When we would not treat

  • Cold-sensitive blood conditions — cryoglobulinaemia, cold agglutinin disease and paroxysmal cold haemoglobinuria
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • A hernia at or near the site, broken skin, or reduced sensation in the area
  • Significant weight to lose, or fat that sits deep behind the muscle wall — the assessment redirects honestly

Frequently asked

How much fat does one cycle remove?

A modest share of the pinchable layer in the treated pocket — enough to see on comparison photographs and the tape, not on the bathroom scale. Anyone quoting a precise percentage for your body before examining you is guessing.

Is fat freezing permanent?

We do not use that word. The cleared cells do not return, but the cells that remain behave normally — put on weight and the area fills out again. The honest description is a change that holds while your weight holds.

What are the risks?

Common effects are temporary — redness, bruising, numbness. The rare one worth knowing about is paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, where the treated pocket enlarges months later instead of shrinking. It is uncommon but real; we screen for risk factors, review at follow-up, and would rather you hear it from us than from a search engine afterwards.

What does it cost?

It is priced per area, depending on the applicator and the number of cycles the assessment recommends. You get the exact figure in writing after the doctor confirms you are a genuine candidate — before anything is booked.

Cryolipolysis or cavitation — which should I choose?

Neither is 'better' — they suit different problems. Cryolipolysis fits a distinct pinchable pocket and works in one or two sittings; cavitation works gradually across a course and suits broader, softer areas. The assessment decides, and sometimes the honest answer is neither.

Does it hurt?

The first minutes feel intensely cold, with pulling and pinching, then the area goes numb and most people read or scroll through the rest of the sitting. Sensation returns as the area rewarms, sometimes with tingling.
