Hair condition after a course of scalp treatment

Hair Mesotherapy

Micro-injections of vitamins, peptides and medication into the scalp as a supporting step.

TIME
20–30 min
CONSULTATION
Complimentary

Very fine injections place a mix of vitamins, amino acids, peptides and — where prescribed — medication into the scalp itself, rather than relying on a topical soaking through it. It is a supporting treatment: useful for scalp condition and as part of a wider plan, but the evidence for it is thinner than for medical therapy, and it is not offered as a substitute for treating the cause.

How it works

  • A mix is prepared for what the assessment found — deficiency, oiliness, inflammation or thinning
  • Very fine injections place it in the scalp rather than relying on absorption through it
  • Sessions are short and close together at first, then tapered
  • It supports the scalp environment; it does not act on the hormonal driver of pattern loss

Sessions & downtime

Usually a course of six to eight short sessions, weekly to fortnightly at first and then spaced out. If nothing measurable has changed by review it is stopped rather than continued indefinitely.

Very little. Small red points at the injection sites for a few hours and some tenderness; hair can be washed the next morning.

Aftercare

  • Do not wash the scalp for the rest of the day
  • Skip oiling, colouring and chemical treatment for 48 hours
  • Keep the rest of the plan going — this is the supporting step, not the main one
  • Say so if tenderness lasts beyond a day, rather than waiting for the next session

When we would not treat

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding, where several of the injected agents are avoided
  • Active scalp infection, inflamed skin or an unhealed area
  • Bleeding disorders, or blood-thinning treatment without medical clearance
  • Anyone expecting it to work alone — undiagnosed pattern loss needs the medical plan first

Frequently asked

Does hair mesotherapy work?

It can improve scalp condition and support a plan, and some patients notice less shedding. The honest position is that the evidence behind it is weaker than for medical therapy, which is why it is offered as a supporting step rather than the main treatment.

How many sessions will I need?

Commonly six to eight, close together at first and then spaced out. If nothing measurable has changed by review we stop, rather than keep booking.

Is it painful?

The needles are very fine and each injection is brief. Most people describe a series of small pricks; the front hairline is felt more than the crown.

How is it different from PRP?

PRP is a concentrate made from your own blood. Mesotherapy uses a prepared mix of vitamins, peptides and medication. They can sit in the same plan, but they are not the same thing and they are not priced the same.

Can it be used alongside medical treatment?

Yes, and it usually should be. In pattern hair loss the medical treatment does the structural work while mesotherapy supports the scalp alongside it.

Will it stop pattern hair loss?

On its own, no. Pattern loss is driven by hormones and genetics and needs treatment aimed at that. Mesotherapy is added for scalp health and delivery, not as an answer to the underlying cause.
